LONG TIME NO SEE!

Yes, I know I've been absent recently and apologize. I've been dealing with a few personal medical issues and things are finally getting back in balance. Writing has been difficult since I can't concentrate on putting words down without my mind wandering to other critical thoughts. Anyway, I'm working my way back and finally see the light at the end.

So, what's been happening in the book world? I'm plugging away again on Master Tempest. This will be the seventh and final book in the Masters of Tabu Series. It's been a long run, enjoyable and bittersweet that it will be ending. I loved all the characters. Who knows, maybe another one will surface again.

Before all the scares with my health, I finished a full-length manuscript I entered in a contest for the BDSM Writers Con. A few weeks ago, I found out I made the finalists with five other authors. Really cool! I love the story, Apartment 18B, a departure from my usual stories. Sort of. It has the BDSM (real sexy), doesn't take place in a club (well, one scene but a different from most), and a suspenseful ending. *Hint* Might have a sequel in the works. I won't find out the winner until August 20th during the conference. Until then, here's the blurb I've come up with:

I’m Brooklyn Jameson, and I haven’t had a decent boyfriend in months. I’m tired of the club scene and crave the love of a good man. But where is he?
Then, I literally stumble at the feet of a mysterious man. Handing me an unusual business card offering the opportunity to meet him at his apartment is an interesting approach, one that piques my interest. Once there, he makes an offer I can’t refuse.
*****
I’m Christopher Nash, a man of the world, disgustingly wealthy and to some considered a player. My tastes in sex and women are the same as my business dealings—I execute a plan and always get what I want.
After rescuing a sassy and gorgeous woman, something behind her eyes makes me want to take care of her. Life is about to change when she accepts my proposition.
After unlocking dark desires, will our lives ever be the same outside Apartment 18B?

SCP 4th ANNIVERSARY BLOG HOP!!!

Click Banner to link
 4th ANNIVERSARY BLOG HOP!

I'm celebrating my four years with SCP. Below is a sneak peak excerpt to my upcoming release, Master Squire. This is the 6th book in the Masters of Tabu series and my first Male/Male story! It is currently with my editor so what I'm showcasing this weekend is an unedited excerpt. I just wish I had a cover, but that won't be coming for a while. I can only guess what Dawne will have in mind for this one. Fantastic, I'm positive. Anyway, here's the back cover blurb and an excerpt. After you finish reading, check for the GIVEAWAY.

Back Cover Blurb:

Sometimes the thing someone needs most is the help from a stranger, not what Dr. Zayne Wolfe expected when a mystery man found and took him to a safe place to recover from a beating. That was how the quest to save his brother began.

Jagger Squire, the security manager at Club Tabu, is having a bad night. A theme party at the BDSM establishment is a safety nightmare, an annoying sub wants to play, and the PTSD is taking a toll. As he’s leaving for the night, he finds a severely beaten young man in the alleyway behind the building.

Later, after a chance meeting at the hospital Zayne practices, Jagger offers friendship and help to the beguiling young doctor. Jagger agrees to help Zayne rescue his brother. Can the last-minute plan work, or will Jagger lose the one man who can heal his battle worn body and heart?

EXCERPT:

Zayne looked at the placard on the side of the building. Embossed in gold on the red and black sign was the word Tabu. At first, he thought the GPS took him to the wrong place. The industrial part of town wasn’t a place he’d ever been. After reading the brief write-up on the Internet, the idea of a private BDSM club in the area seemed odd. He didn’t care as long as Jagger was there.

Sadomasochism entered his world many times over the past year. Sex gone wrong, whether kinky, fetish, or just odd uses of toys, always sent male or female into the ER at least once or twice a week on his shifts. The recent mainstream interest in the S and M lifestyle brought more interesting occurrences. From cock rings being too tight and stuck on penises to nerve damage from using handcuffs improperly, he’d seen just about everything. Not to mention whips and floggers damaging skin or using the wrong kind of heated wax causing severe burns.

BDSM wasn’t Zayne’s scene. Not really. Yes, he liked a little pain now and then. Nips and pinches to get off, but nothing hardcore. He enjoyed a little kinky sex, men or women—but this kind of public play? Having to go in and convince Jagger to help, to hire the services of a security company and in a setting of a sex club seemed weird.
Jesus, I can’t believe I’m doing this. This is for you Zach.
The man behind the counter checked in patrons who entered just before Zayne. He was a big man, dressed in casual clothes of a black T-shirt with the same logo as the sign outside silk-screened on the left chest. Tight black jeans and a leather wristband studded with silver metal spikes.
“Thanks Anton,” one of the men checked in said. He turned toward Zayne, smiled and then tugged the leash attached to a collar around the woman’s neck.
Zayne knew this was normal, but the outfit was a shock. He’d seen the same couple in the parking lot earlier and they looked…normal.
“Hey,” the man behind the counter said. “You membership card please.”
“I’m not a member. I’m looking for Jagger Squire.”
“I bet you are,” the big man said with a shake of his head. “I don’t think we’re hiring right now, but if want to fill out an application, you can.”
“No. I just need to talk to him. Can’t I just go inside for a few minutes? I need his services.”
The man erupted into laughter and Zayne rolled his eyes. “I’m sure you’d like to try, but he doesn’t take on pretty boys no matter how much money you offer. We don’t do that here.”
“Look, Anton, right?”
The man pinched his brow, but didn’t answer.
“I’m not interested in fucking the man, just talk. I want to hire his security company and I heard he was here. Can I just go in and see Jagger?”
The man stared at Zayne. Before he could answer, another much taller and handsome man stepped beside him.
Rather than introduce himself, he asked, “What did you say about seeing Jagger?”
“You heard me,” Zayne bit out. “I’m tired and I don’t have time to stand here and argue. This is a matter of life and death. I need to see Jagger Squire.”
The man nodded. “I heard you. I just don’t know how Squire’s going to feel about doing business here.” He paused. “How did you know he was here?”
On edge for days and coming off an intense night at the hospital, Zayne reacted before he could stop himself. “Why the fuck would you care how I found out?”
The man raised a brow and a hard growl came out of his mouth. “I’m one of the owners of Tabu so I don’t think you want to go there.”
“Sorry, it’s just that I’m running out of time and Jagger is my last resort before…”
“Okay. I get it.” The handsome man turned to the other man. “Anton, hand me a red wristband.”
Anton reached in a drawer and handed over the plastic bracelet.
“Wear this while you’re inside. It means you’re off-limits. Come with me.”

GIVEAWAY
As a bonus for reading the little excerpt, please leave a comment below along with your email address. One random name will be drawn by Random.org to win an ebook copy of MASTER KNIGHT, Book 1 in the Masters of Tabu series.

PLAYING WITH A VAMPIRE

Book 2 with the Vampire Syndicate Novel Series is out! Playing with a Vampire picks up after Hunting a Vampire with Gregori Van Zant and Candi Hartz. Available on Amazon.

BLURB:

Candi Hartz, is a romance novelist, trapped in a loveless marriage. When she finds a business card printed with a vampire club address in her husband’s clothes, she discovers more than a bar. There she meets the seductive owner, the Master and Commander of the local Blood Family. With one kiss she enters a world she only read about.

Three hundred sixty year old Gregori Van Zant, a life scarred and bitter vampire, is the head of the Mid-Atlantic family who recently lost the protection of his Sergeant Palatine and Enforcer. To complicate matters, a captivating woman walks into his club, a human female who is unlike any other. With a fortuitous change of events the next night, Gregori seizes an opportunity to strike a deal, and snare the lovely Candi in his subtle web.

Candi and Gregori agree on a contract, sex in exchange for information, and they set out on a week’s adventure. Candi is born to play and Gregori is anxious to show her how. An old enemy comes to town and disrupts their plans.
With a final battle looming on the horizon, will the two fated lovers find love eternal or will death play a part?

 EXCERPT:

Could his existence find an even keel again after how Dragos Munteanu had disrupted the norm? The spread of a deadly virus and introduction of the highly addictive drug Blue into the mainstream of humanity edged on insanity, but if it had worked, would’ve been a brilliant move by Dragos. Gregori had to admit that much about the maniacal vamp and he almost got away with the plan if not for Gregori and other vamp leaders. To hear the FBI and V Bounty hunters talk, they were the ones who thwarted the plot. Working with humans wasn’t his first choice, but he had no other at the time. Now, the humans were riding high on their success.
Is that why I’m so pissed off at everything lately?

“Master Gregori, would you like another cognac before the next scene starts?” The vamp waitress’ dulcet voice wrenched him from the doom and gloom thoughts.
Hooded silvery gray eyes glanced up to peer at the scantily clad server. “Yes, thank you Sheena.” The young woman had been in his family for almost twenty years. She’d not changed since the day he turned her. Innocence still graced her happy disposition despite what he had to do to save her.

“Very good.” She removed the empty glass and napkin then departed.
Cognac Paradis. What the fuck Stefan? What the fuck indeed. He never drank the strong liquor before Stefan introduced the concoction to the Transfixed and the Black Rose V Clubs as the House Special. No doubt, a blend Stefan brought from one of his European quests. Do vamps get depressed? What’s wrong with me?
Gregori hated the hard stuff. Normally, he drank blood wine, but for some brain fart reason, he took up the foul concoction when Stefan left his employ and moved to Miami Beach. The kick of the drink made his insides warm and fuzzy, and reminded of him of the time spent as a young rogue vampire a couple centuries ago.
Ever the watchful master and lord of his domain, Gregori surveyed the club as he pushed the ugly thoughts of his early years out of his head. Humans and vamps played together, having blood and sex exchanges, with a twist. He’d brought a new and edgy take on a lifestyle club in Virginia Beach twenty-odd years ago. After leaving the New York family, he headed south and landed at the Beach. He never left and when he took over the Mid-Atlantic Blood Family, he revitalized it, but he’d become bored.
Patrons were happy, but something didn’t seem right anymore and he grew weary with the same political bullshit in the town. Nothing excited him, made him feel like his existence have the spark he used to have. Dragos had at least sparked things for a bit, but within weeks the adrenaline high faded.
His new V existence began with similar exuberance at first, reveling in the power that came with the change. At the time, the world welcomed him into the dark, cruel, brutal, and bloodthirsty realm of other vampires. Humans were easy to take and he had no remorse for doing so. They’d treated him with disdain from the day he was born and he owed them nil in return. Women were the easiest. He viewed them for what they were, vessels for his physical pleasure and bloodlust, nothing more. Until he met Lady Johanna van der Ghent in Antwerp, Belgium.
Damn, I haven’t thought of Johanna in ages. It must be the liquor.
Sheena returned with the House Special and placed another cocktail napkin before him and the drink on top, “Your cognac, Master Gregori.”
“Thank you, Sheena.”
The centuries old thoughts about Johanna stirred emotions. The memories and pain were buried deep. He’d locked them away long ago, never wanting them to surface again. Tonight they did, but why?
Just what the world needs a manic-depressive vampire.
He snickered and sipped the foul drink, sliding the biting liquid across his tongue and down his gullet.
Ah, Johanna, the once lovely and vibrant beauty I would have risked everything to make mine forever.
The woman ruined him for every woman that followed. She’d taught him not to trust another again. Or, love.
